Characteristics

Evergreen tree. It belongs to the Cupressaceae family.

Native to Asia, its scale-like leaves are reminiscent of those of its distant cousin, the cypress.

With slow growth, it is part of the conifer family.

Exposure

Tree to be placed outdoors in a sunny spot. In the height of summer, it is preferable to place it in a semi-shaded area.

Watering

Abundant in summer and moderate in winter, this is a tree that appreciates having its leaves sprayed with water.

Pruning

Structural pruning is done in late autumn when the sap descends. Pinching or green pruning is done during the growth period, requiring the pinching of young shoots.

Fertilizer

From spring to autumn with organic or chemical fertilizer, according to your preference.

Repotting

Repotting of the juniper is done in spring; it is preferable to choose a draining substrate such as Akadama and Pumice. Repotting occurs every 2 or 3 years.
