          White Mulberry Bonsai / Morus Alba, 8 years old

          Characteristics

          Deciduous tree (loses its leaves in winter). It belongs to the Moraceae family.

          Originating from Western Asia, it is highly appreciated for its small fruits ranging from white to red and black.

          Exposure

          The mulberry is a tree to be placed in the sun. It withstands frost well, but it is recommended to protect it from temperatures below -5°C.

          Watering

          Abundant in summer and moderate in winter.

          Pruning

          Structural pruning is generally done in late autumn or late winter before the sap rises. Green pruning or pinching is carried out during the growth period from June until the end of autumn.

          Fertilizer

          From spring to autumn with liquid or solid fertilizer, chemical or organic, according to your preference.

          Repotting

          Repotting is done every 2 or 3 years depending on the condition of the substrate and the water drainage through the pot. We recommend a draining substrate such as akadama, an akadama-pumice mix, or a zeolite-chabasite mix.
